Amilie Mauresmo
of
France was forced to withdraw from the tournament
just an hour before before her quarterfinal match against
Fabiola Zuluaga.
She injured her back in her previous match against
Alicia Molik and the injury
worsened as she practiced prior to today's match.
"When I hit some shots I can feel really strong pain," she
explained tearfully.
"The other thing is it could get worse if I play. The best thing
to so is to rest." |
